The Mi Wireless Switch is a small Zigbee button that acts as a physical shortcut into your Xiaomi Home setup. It has no wiring, so you can sit it on a bedside table, stick it under a desk or fix it to a wall wherever a control is actually useful. One button gives you three separate commands, since a single tap, a double tap and a press-and-hold can each be assigned to a different action in the app.

How to set up & use

Open the Mi Home / Xiaomi Home app and add the switch as a new device, following the pairing prompt. Once it appears, assign an action to each of the three gestures: single tap, double tap and press-and-hold. Then place the switch where you want it or use its adhesive backing to fix it in position. Note the stated operating temperature range of -10 C to 50 C.

Connectivity & compatibility

The switch connects over Zigbee and is managed through the Mi Home / Xiaomi Home app on Android and iOS. It is not a standalone device: it needs a Xiaomi hub on your network to work, and Xiaomi states that a Xiaomi Smart Home Hub 2 is required for full functionality. The instant remote calling feature additionally requires a compatible speaker device already added to Xiaomi Home. Hubs and speakers are sold separately.

Care & safety

This device contains a CR2032 coin cell. Keep it and any spare cells well away from children and pets; swallowing a coin cell causes serious internal injury and needs immediate medical attention.
Dispose of used coin cells at a proper battery collection point, never in household waste.
Make sure the battery compartment is closed properly after any battery change.
Keep the switch dry; it is an indoor device and is not rated for water exposure.
Keep it within the stated -10 C to 50 C operating range and out of direct sunlight.
Do not crush, puncture, heat or attempt to recharge the coin cell.
