Phones dropped the headphone jack and left a lot of people with a drawer full of earphones they can no longer plug in. The Porodo Soundtec RAY fixes that with a USB-C plug on the end of a 1.2m cable. Inside each earpiece is a 10mm dynamic driver covering the full 20Hz–20kHz range, and a separate 4mm microphone element handles calls rather than borrowing the speaker for the job. A three-button inline remote keeps play, pause, track skip and volume under your thumb, so the phone can stay in your pocket. At 16Ω impedance and 105dB sensitivity, they go loud enough on a phone or laptop without an amplifier.

Connectivity & compatibility

The RAY is a wired USB-C earphone. It works with any phone, tablet or laptop that has a USB-C port supporting audio output — most modern Android phones, USB-C iPads and iPhones, Windows laptops and MacBooks. There is no battery to charge, no pairing and no latency, which makes it a good choice for video, gaming and calls. It is not compatible with 3.5mm jacks or Lightning ports without a suitable adapter.
