How to set up & use

Pop the Mi Smart Band 4 tracker unit out of its strap: pull firmly at both ends of the strap to open a small gap, then push the unit out from the front. Insert the end with the two metal contacts into the cradle on the cable until it seats. Plug the USB-A end into a computer USB port or a 5V charger with an output current above 250mA. The band shows a charging icon; tap the touch button at any time to wake the screen and check progress. When it is full, remove the tracker and press it back into the strap, inserting one end into the slot first and pressing the other end home.

Connectivity & compatibility

This cable fits the Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 4 only (Xiaomi accessory code SJV4147GL). It does not fit the Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 5, Mi Smart Band 6, Xiaomi Smart Band 7 or any later model - those charge with a magnetic connector that attaches to the back of the tracker without removing it from the strap - and it is not interchangeable with the cradles supplied with earlier Mi Band generations. Xiaomi supplies a separate dedicated charger for each band generation, so always match the charger to your band model. Power source: any USB-A port on a computer, or a 5V charger with an output current above 250mA. Note that many power banks will not charge the band, because their current-protection circuits shut off at the very low current a smart band draws - only power banks with a low-current mode work reliably.

Care & safety

Keep the metal charging contacts on both the cradle and the tracker clean and dry - wipe them with a dry cloth if charging becomes unreliable.
Never plug in the cable or seat the band while either is wet; dry the tracker fully after swimming or a shower before charging.
Do not force the tracker into the cradle or twist the connector - seat it gently in the correct orientation.
Stop using the cable immediately if the lead is frayed, kinked or the plug is damaged, and do not attempt to repair it.
Use a compliant 5V USB power source and do not leave the band charging unattended or overnight.
Keep the cable away from heat, direct flame and small children, and do not pull it out of a socket by the lead.
