The official Xiaomi magnetic charging cable for the Xiaomi Smart Band 7 - and, according to Xiaomi, also for the Mi Smart Band 5 and Mi Smart Band 6. The magnetic head snaps onto the back of the tracker, so there is no need to pop the band out of its strap, and gold-plated copper contacts keep the connection quick and reliable. At 400mm it is short enough to coil away in a pocket or drawer as a spare.

How to set up & use

Plug the USB end into a computer USB port or a compliant USB power adapter. Hold the magnetic head against the charging contacts on the back of the band - it will pull itself into place and align automatically. The band shows its charging indicator on screen once power is flowing. Leave it until fully charged, then simply pull the head away. Wipe the contacts occasionally with a dry cloth if the band stops charging reliably.

Connectivity & compatibility

Xiaomi lists this cable (product model XMCDQ05HM) as compatible with the Mi Smart Band 5, Mi Smart Band 6 and Xiaomi Smart Band 7. It is not for the Mi Smart Band 4 or earlier generations, which use a cradle that requires the tracker to be removed from the strap, and it is not listed for Xiaomi Smart Band 8 or later. Xiaomi supplies a dedicated charging cable for each band generation, so always match the cable to your band model before buying. It connects to any standard USB power source - a computer USB port, a car USB socket or a USB wall adapter.

Care & safety

Keep the magnetic contacts on both the cable and the band clean and dry, and wipe them with a dry cloth if charging becomes unreliable.
Dry the band fully after swimming, showering or exercise before attaching the charger - never charge a wet band.
Do not force the magnetic head onto the band or twist it; let the magnets do the aligning.
Stop using the cable at once if the lead is frayed or kinked or the plug is damaged, and do not attempt to repair it.
Use a compliant USB power source, and do not leave the band charging unattended or overnight.
Keep the cable away from heat and direct flame, keep the magnetic head away from magnetic-stripe cards, and do not unplug it by pulling on the lead.
